A year ago, a new hotspot has opened in the historical fortress city of s-Hertogenbosch, or Den Bosch, in the Netherlands: The Den, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is the city’s biggest ever hotel with 160 rooms. The four-star hotel is located in the modern and popular “Het Paleiskwartier” district and is connected by the “De Paleisbrug” pedestrian bridge, offering hotel guests a direct link to the city center. “The hotel The Den is where local culture meets international charm,” explained the General Manager of The Den. “We want to celebrate the historical fortress city and embrace the local Burgundian way of life while at the same time presenting a new concept to Den Bosch – something modern and cosmopolitan that will draw international travelers to this attractive city.” Guests of the lifestyle hotel can enjoy attractive rooms, offbeat conference rooms, a state-of-the-art gym known as “The Movement”, as well as lively restaurants and appealing bars. A particular highlight is the “Current Rooftop Restaurant & Bar”, a rooftop restaurant with a spectacular skybar on the ninth floor.
Ode to Den Bosch
The Den is the result of a successful collaboration between the property owner, Build to Built, HDVL Designmakers, HIP Studio, and HomrisB8, who have worked together to create a state-of-the-art, harmonious design concept. As well as the name, the stylish, contemporary design of the hotel is an ode to the historical canals for which Den Bosch is famous. Organic shapes and fluid lines form recurring design elements. Inspired by the city’s canals and the water that flows through them, an elegant color palette of blues and grays was selected that harmonizes with the hotel’s design elements. Colors and shapes seamlessly blend both in the public areas and the stylish rooms and suites, with loving attention right down to the very last detail. This is also reflected in the craftsmanship and selection of high-quality materials. For example, Duravit’s quality and contemporary design was chosen for the elegantly appointed bathrooms and toilet areas.
Oases of comfort
After a long day, the modern and fully equipped rooms of the lifestyle hotel leave nothing to be desired: with inviting king-size beds, the rooms truly are oases of comfort and relaxation. The junior suites are a real jewel in the hotel’s accommodation crown, with large window fronts that offer a breathtaking view of the city and the surrounding “Bossche Broek” nature reserve. In keeping with the stylishly furnished rooms, the bathrooms are fitted throughout with high-quality sanitary ceramics from Duravit. For instance, the toilets from the Architec range, above-counter basins from Foster, and faucets and showerheads from the C.1 series blend perfectly into the atmosphere of the bathrooms. The C.1 faucet and the oval Foster above-counter basin with its gentle curves combined with the geometric bathroom furniture create a particularly interesting and varied overall impression and are a perfect match for the overarching concept of the four-star hotel.
